U.S. Federal Procurement of Geotechnology 2003
From the Foreword
This report provides an analysis of procurement of geotechnology products and services by the U.S. federal government in fiscal year 2003. We broadly define geotechnology to include a number of related GIS and geospatial fields, such as data conversion and digitizing, satellite and aerial imagery, environmental management and consulting, GIS consulting and application development, mapping services, and professional engineering services.
We found 73 federal agencies spent more than six billion dollars in 2003 making purchases from 307 companies in the geotechnologies. We identify the top ten vendors in six product and service categories for the top ten agencies, providing insight into the revenue opportunities available to businesses willing to learn how to do business with the federal government.
